Fallowness has a purpose too

Its weird to vacate a fully established studio space just before one is to be traveling out of the country for next 3 months, an artist residency and a solo show...
And WHY? Just a few weeks back my landlord calls " Deepak I need your help, my niece has fought with her in-laws and announced that she is shifting out, I know we have another 2 years agreement but please help... ", I said Gosh!! at this juncture .. please tell her to hug her in-laws and say she was kidding, really life is simple or isn't it?

I wondered what was more important her statement or my situation? Well how does it matter and amidst my chaotic life, I simply added more to it, I shifted out and my Delhi home now looks like a warehouse
its nice to follow the winds of change.

Nature gifts me with a nice big studio space in Copenhagen, mysteriously a space once occupied by Sohan Quadri... his last studio building in Copenhagen before he moved to his daughter in Canada.
Sitting here I reflect... about the beautiful chaos that had built up in my Delhi studio, enough paints, canvases, material etc to last me many years, 17 years of personal collection that surrounded me, frantic calls from artist friends, curators, galleries, long discussions over Rum.
I had been working for nearly 16 hours a day for last so many months, fatigued but enjoyed it.
I conveniently did not bring my old cameras thinking I would pick up a compact 'all in one' from where I land, the model i need is sold out.. I now use the Mobile camera, stripped off all my materials and active space...

Hence all of that, does not exist here in this time and space, the beauty of emptiness surrounds me,

"Fallowness has a purpose too, a field once rested yields abundance"
